Active cases witness drastic decline in the district

GANDERBAL, JULY 14: In view of the rising water levels in Sindh Nallah, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today urged the general public to avoid picnic, swimming and bathing in Sindh Nallah for the safety of their own lives.

She said that the district administration has also issued an advisory in this regard.

The DC said this during a routine press briefing to present an overall situation of the Covid-19 in the district, besides the covid containment and mitigation measures employed so far in the district.

Regarding active positive cases in the district, the DC said that 131 cases are active in the district and only 4 persons are admitted in District Hospital besides, no death has been reported in the past two weeks.

Elaborating on containment zones, the DC said that containment zones have come down to 23 and about 62 percent active cases are from these zones.

Furthermore, the DC said that about 25 percent population of 18-44 years of age are given first dose of vaccination and urged the people of above 45 years of age who are eligible for second dose to get the same and if they face any inconvenience with regard to availability of vaccination, she urged them to contact on Covid District Control Room.

She again appealed to the people of the district to continue to follow Covid appropriate behavior besides wearing face masks, avoid unnecessary gatherings in markets and other public places.
