Opening Ceremony of KPL 2021 At DPS Srinagar on 28 July 2021

In keeping up with the commemoration of Swarnim Vijay Varsh, a cricket tournament Swarnim Vijay Varsh Kashmir Premier League 2021 has been organised under the aegis of Chinar Corps.Phase 1 (pre-qualifiers) of KPL 2021 commenced on 01July in 10 districts of Kashmir.Nearly 200 teams participated with much enthusiasm & energy.After a series of well fought matches, each district selected the best team to represent their district at Phase 2 – League Matches of KPL 2021.The Phase 2 of the League Kickstarted with much josh & grandeur on 28 Jul 2021 at DPS, Srinagar.The event was attended by esteemed civil & military dignitaries.The opening ceremony of KPL 2021 commenced with the the inaugration of the magnificent trophy of SwarnimVijayVarsh Kashmir Premier League 2021 & words of motivation by Mr. Vijay Kumar Dhar, Chairman, DPS Srinagar.Followed by an address by Cdr Chinar AD Bde, explaining the ethos of KPL 2021 & the endeavour of grassroot connect & integration of talented youth through the medium of cricket.The inaugural match between Srinagar Suleimans & Bandipora Climbers kickstarted with tossing of coin by Mr Majid, Member, BCCI JKCA.The match was high on energy & josh & has set the benchmark for the subsequent League matches.The match was won by Bandipora Climbers by 6 wickets & Malik Zameer was adjudged Man of the Match for taking 52 runs from 22 balls.
He was awarded a cheque of Rs 3000 for his wonderful performance.The match kept the spectators engaged until the very end & the Captains of both the teams took the opportunity to express their gratitude for seamless organising & privilege to play.
