ARMY CAMP GUJJARPATTI ON THE OCCASION OF NATIONAL HANDLOOMS DAY SCREENED A DOCUMENTARY MOVIE FOR STUDENTS OF AGS and VTC IN LOLAB

Army camp, Gujjarpatti on the occassion of “National Handlooms Day screened a documentary movie for the students of AGS and VTC in Lolab which showcased the evolution of handloom industry in India and the contributions of kashmiri handloom workers towards nation building.
The documentary movie were screened at both the AGS schools Chandigam as well as krusan for students studying in IX and X to give them an insight about how the handloom industry emerged, its role during india’s freedom struggle and today how it is operating. Besides this, VTC teachers and their students were also invited to encourage them and achieve the women empowerment mission. Around 200 students and 10 teaching staffs from both the AGS’s, and around 35 VTC students and 02 VTC teachers attended for the same.
The event commenced with the welcoming the VTC teacher and staff at the AGS and as a token of appreciation towards their contribution were given huge round of applause by the students of AGS.
After screening the documentary movie a short video clip on VTC functioning in Lolab were screened to encourage the VTC staff and their students. Following this students and teaching staff from both AGS and VTC delivered a brief lecture on the event and on National handlooms day.
At the end of the event the students, teaching staffs from both AGS and VTC of Wadi-e-Lolab conveyed their gratitude and appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army for providing them such an opportunity which gives the AGS students an insight about such industries which is emerging and for encouraging the VTC staff and their students thus, for giving them recognition as well as for encouraging women empowerment. At the end, Students of AGS as well as VTC requested the army for more such opportunities in near future.
