As part of the ongoing Jashn-e-Azadi celebration to commemorate the Glorious 75 years of India’s Independence in conjuction with the nation wide celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Habba Khatoon Cultural Show was organised today at the Habba Khatoon Spring in Gurez was organised by the Indian Army.
The show is a special dedication to the Awam of Gurez by the Indian Army in order to provide a platform for the budding artists and to promote the rich and varied Dard-Shin culture of Gurez.
More than eight groups of Shina artists and school children from different parts of the valley participated in the colorful and joyous celebration which was attended by more than 500 Government officials, tourists, Army personnel, prominent personalities and Awam from all parts of Gurez.
Numerous sadbhavna initiatives and activities have been undertaken by the Army so far which are aimed at attracting more tourists to Gurez and showcasing the pristine natural beauty and anciet Dard-Shin culture of Gurez to the World therby catalysing the socio-economic development of Gurez by skilling and guiding the local youth of the valley in order to provide them with avenues of self-employment through the budding tourism industry.
These small initiatives by the Army and the District Administration will put Gurez on the tourism world map and also align Gurez with the national aim of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative being carried out in different parts of the country.
