Massive Crack down against Durg mafia in Anantnag continues.

Anantnag; 12 August 2021. Anantnag police continuing its war against the Drug menace arrested two drug peddlers and recovered huge consignment of poppy straw.
Police Station Bijbehara received a specific information through reliable sources that one Mohd Yousuf Reshi S/O Ali Mohammad Reshi resident of Waghama Bijbehara has indulged in peddling of narcotic substances and accordingly has hoarded a large quantity of narcotic substance in his residential house. Accordingly case FIR No. 226/2021under relevant sections of NDPS Act got registered in police station Bijbehara and investigation taken up. On receipt of this information, a team comprising of SDPO Bijbehara, SHO Bijbehara DO Sangam and Executive Magistrate concerned was constituted, who carried out the search of the said house. During search 27 bags of Poppy Straw weighing about 580 KG’s was recovered from the hideout in the courtyard of the said house. The owner of the said house namely Mohd Yousuf Reshi fled away from the spot, while other two persons namely Zahid Ahmad Reshi and Aamir Ahmad Reshi Son’s of Mohd Yousuf Reshi both residents of Waghama Bijbehara were arrested on spot and contraband seized. Further investigation in the instant case continues.

Anantnag Police once again appeals the people of the District to come forward with the information regarding drug peddlers so that curative steps can be taken against them.
