Milaap : An interaction with Ex-servicemen of Lolab Kandi and Vilgam Region.

An interaction with Ex-servicemen was carried out at Charkut on 13 Aug 21, which was attended by approximate 50 JAK LI Ex-servicemen from Kupwara District. The aim of the interaction was to resolve the grievance pertaining to various facets like analmolies in pension, incorrect records of personnel data etc. The initiative was jointly conducted under the aegis of Charkut Garrison & JAK Li Records. As a result of pendemic, Ex-servicemen of the region were not able to optimally utilize established mechanisms of Indian Army for tackling their issues. A day long interaction was therefore thought out as a Novel Idea to overcome this problem to enable ‘Doorstep Solution’ to approximate 50 Ex-servicemen.

During the interaction, the Ex-servicemen were acquinated with the various initiatives undertaken by the Indian Army and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir for the welfare of Ex-servicemen while adhering to strict guidelines of COVID-19 pandemic. The gathering was also made aware of latest Govt. policies, and Pre recruitment railies planned in the next three months. Ex-servicemen pledged that they will motivate youth of their area to join Armed Forces and to be part of mainstream. A presentation was made to be beneficiaries by Record Officer which brought to fore many Army initiatives for veterans. Commander, Charkut Garrison presided over the event and addressed the Ex-servicemen and assured them of Army’s commitments to look after their well being in the true spirit of brotherhood and commarderie of Indian Army.
