Independence Day holds special significance in all our hearts. Not only does August 15 mark the day India gained independence from 200-year-old colonial rule, but Independence Day also serves as a reminder of all the virtues, pride, colourful history, cultural richness, diversity and landscapes which we must all feel proud to call our homeland. In view of this Army Camp Gujjarpatti organised grand celebration of 75th indian independence day at AGS Krusan and AGS Chandigam. At both schools the event commenced with National Flag hoisting followed by National Anthem and successively cultural events. Around 258 students from AGS Krusan, 300 students from AGS Chandigam and 90 local populace, witnessed the performances by cultural event participants. Besides cultural programme Parade by NCC Cadets and Scout & guides promise further enriched the event and made the independence day celebration a big success. At the end, gifts were given to the participants and sweets were distributed to all attendees.

In view of the 75th Independence Day
34 ASSAM RIFLES alongwith the local administration celebrated the Independence day with zeal and enthusiasm at Degree college , Kangan. Sub- Divisional Magistrate, Kangan was the chief guest for the event.

It was a first of its kind, that a pipe band, khukri dance and mixed martial arts event was showcased during the Independence Day celebrations in the region.
Riflewomen who have been trained in the mixed martial arts also showcased their skills.
Khukri dance alongwith the Pipe Band was the showstopper and recieved the loudest applause from the spectators.

The Khukri dance and mixed martial arts performance by the 34 Assam Rifles was adjudged the best among all the performances and were awarded the first position.
