August 27: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 03 drug peddlers in Kulgam and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
Officers from Police Station DH Pora under the supervision of SDPO DH Pora Shri Sheikh Tahir Amin-JKPS at a checkpoint established at Nandimarag crossing intercepted 03 suspicious persons who were trying to flee from spot after noticing police party. They have been identified as Gulzar Ahmad Ganie, Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat and Ali Mohammad Mir, all residents of DH Pora. During checking, officers were able to recover 70gms of Brown Sugar from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 107/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station DH Pora and further investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
