Youth allegedly hangs self to death in Shopian village

A 14-year-old youth was found hanging in Heff Shirmal area of South Kashmir’s Shopian on Saturday morning, official said.

Official sources said that the victim (name withheld) from Heff Shirmal was found hanging with a ceiling fan by his family members at his home this morning. “He was studying in class 8th” they said.

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in to the incident, the sources said.

They said prima facie it seems a case of suicide even as investigation has been set into motion to ascertain the cause of the youth’s death.
