Militants leave behind weapon after exchanging fire in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sep 18, : After a face-off militants escaped from Noorbagh area of Srinagar city today.

   There was brief exchange of fire between militants and Joint Forces. The exchange of fire took place after Forces cordoned off Bhagwanpora area and conducted search operation.

   Police in a tweet said that: “A small team of police while laying cordon were fired upon by militants. Seem they escaped after dropping their weapons.

   Reports said that militants left behind a pistol and an assault rifle before escaping from the area.

  Pertinently, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar recently said that there are 4 militants active in Srinagar city. (KNT)
