Srinagar,18 Sep 2021. In a first of its kind, Leh Premier League (T-20 Cricket
Tournament) was organized by Buland Battalion under the aegis of Fire and Fury
Corps as part of celebration of 75 years of our Independence. The event which was
conducted between 13 to 18 September 21 saw ten teams participating and
representing the areas in and around Leh.
In an exciting final match Tip Top Juniors who scored 185 for 6, clinched the
very first Leh Premier League trophy by defeating Shelkar Juniors who could
manage only 157 for the loss of 5 wickets. Shri Tashi Gyalson, Chief Executive
Councilor of Leh and Major General Akash Kaushik, Chief of Staff, Fire and Fury
Corps witnessed the match in addition to senior military officials of Fire and Fury
Corps and locals.
The event was well received by the locals and has contributed further to the
bonhomie between the locals and army. It was a first of its kind post the COVID-19
restrictions. The tournament has set stage for the Ladakh Premier League which is
scheduled to be conducted from 26 to 30 September 21 with the top two teams
from all zones of Ladakh locking horns for the prestigious “Ladakh Premier League
Trophy”.
