GOC CHINAR CORPS VISITS NCC CAMP AT GUREZ

Srinagar,  22 Sep 21.         The GOC Chinar Corps Lt Gen DP Pandey visited the first ever NCC Combined Annual Training Camp in Gurez-Tulail sector on 22 September 2021.

            The cadets from Uri, Kupwara, Handwara, Sopore, Pattan, Bandipora, Baramulla, Pehalgam, Anantnag, Qazigund, Pulwama, Shopian, Jammu and Gurez of J&K UT are attending the camp, which is being conducted at Dawar, Gurez from 16 to 24 September 2021. The camp is being conducted by 3 J&K Bn NCC Baramulla under the aegis of ADG NCC Directorate Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh in coordination and with requisite support of the Indian Army formation in Gurez Sector.

            The camp is being attended by 175 Senior Division cadets including 44 girl cadets.  The cadets are participating in various activities comprising of physical training, drill, weapon training and firing, yoga, trekking, sports, community service and also interacting with the youth of the Gurez valley. Apart from getting basic training, few cadets will also be selected to represent the JK&L Contingent at the Republic Day Camp 2022.

            The GOC was received by smartly dressed cadets and was given a ‘Guard of Honour’. Later, he interacted with the cadets and complimented them for their active participation in the camp. He reiterated the importance of such camps wherein youth imbibe life lessons for becoming disciplined and loyal citizens of the nation. He cited invaluable contribution of NCC cadets in rendering selfless service towards the community, especially during the COVID pandemic. He exhorted the cadets to share responsibility on behalf of society in bringing peace, prosperity and security in the country. He also complimented the parents for motivating their wards for joining NCC camp.
