Mendhar Gunners under the aegis of the White Knight Corps started a ‘Volleyball Tournament’ at Mendhar for the youth of Mendhar which is a remote area. The aim of the tournament is to motivate youth to take up sports as a profession and to inculcate the value of sportsmanship. The final match has been conducted today between Mendhar Club Vs Star Volley Club. Total 11 teams of boys of Mendhar and nearby villages participated for the tournament with great zeal and enthusiasm. The players displayed their sporting skills and gave pitched fight for each and every point. The Commanding officer of Mendhar Gunners & Distt Ex-servicemen president Mr Shamim falicitated both the winner and runner up team by giving them prizes. State Bank of India, Mendhar also sponsored the tournament. Mendhar club won this final match with great efforts by defeating Star Volley score 25-12,25-18,17-25 &25-23.
