Srinagar, Oct 12: The government Tuesday directed the administration to post migrant employees of Kashmir division in “safe and secure zones” instead of vulnerable places for the time being.
The government also directed Kashmiri migrant employees not to leave the valley as security has been tightened for them.
The divisional administration ordered that adequate measures of security shall be put in place for the non-migrant minority population in Kashmir.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole, in a meeting here, said, “It is impressed upon the officers (Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) to preferably post these migrant employees in safe and secure zones instead of far flung and vulnerable areas for the time being.”
Pole also directed that non-migrant minority population viz labourers etc in the district shall be identified and adequate measures of security shall be put in place for them.
“Besides, regular interactions shall be conducted with them so that any apprehension with regard to their security is taken care of,” he said.
In the meeting, all the Deputy Commissioners and the SSPs informed the divisional commissioner that a strict vigil has been ensured and the security measures for the migrant employees have been further tightened.
Pole was also informed that “besides concerned Deputy Commissioners, SSPs have paid visits to the migrant colonies and  their accommodation at Sheikhpora Budgam, Nutnusa Kupwara, Tulmulla Ganderbal, Hall Pulwama, Maton and Vessu Anantnag etc.
“They are being briefed about the security confidence-building measures, facilities and other arrangements being put in place by the government for their safety and security.”
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner directed Kashmiri migrant employees not to leave the valley as security has been tightened for them, saying absence from duty will be dealt with as per service rules.
“The chair (divisional commissioner of Kashmir) directed that no migrant employee needs to leave the district/valley and whosoever will be absent (from duty) shall be dealt with as per service rules,” an order issued by Assistant Commissioner (Central) Aziz Ahmad Rather said.
