October, 22. Social activist and Apni Party leader Mohammad Amin Shah has hailed the decision of the administration to throw sonamarg open during winter season. Terming the decision as historic, Shah said that it’s due to efforts by DC Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna that Sonamarg will be open for tourism activities during winter and make it all weather tourist destination which remains closed during this winter season earlier. Welcoming the efforts of DC Ganderbal to take the tourism infrastructure of Ganderbal, Shah said it will strengthen the economy and also provide employment and livelihood for the people.
In a meeting with Div Com DC Ganderbal assured that the basis facilities like hospital, water, electricity, telecom services, fire and safety, ATM, car parking to be available.
Shah in a statement said that publicity of tourism sector and promote them all weather friendly is a necessary step taken by adminstration. Economy of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh depends on tourism and their promotion to make them all weather friendly and speeding up infrastructure of tourism sector should be on priority. This sector has potential to reduce unemployment of the respective UT’s.
