BJP District President Srinagar, Mr. Ashok Bhat BJP Seeks an End to Violence and a Probe into Civilian Deaths in the Gunfire at Hyderpora

Srinagar, November 18, 2021: The District President of the BJP, Mr. Ashok Bhat has urged the Administration of Jammu and Kashmir to urgently institute an honest and impartial probe into the recent shootings at Hyderpora, Srinagar.
Speaking to Media persons on the announcement of the formation of a SIT to investigate the matter, Mr. Bhat welcomed the development, but cautioned the administration to ensure that the investigation is non-partisan and honest.
“The loss of lives in gun-violence spawned by terrorism has got to come to an end,” Mr. Ashok Bhat emphasized, adding that, “As long as guns are in our midst and we do not – as one, and collectively – shun the use of violence to resolve issues, innocent people will continue to get killed. This must come to an end.”
He was critical of the former Chief Minister, Ms. Mehbooba Mufti, for not unequivocally coming down against Pakistan sponsored terrorism that has ruined the lives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and deprived them of the fruits of development and a democratic expression of their rights.
“We have to be unequivocal about our strongest disapproval of violence, and cannot be fence-sitters like Ms. Mehbooba Mufti,” Mr. Ashok Bhat said. “It is precisely her kind of politics that is continuing to expose our young men and women to terrorist violence and untimely death, and keeping the pot boiling as directed by her masters across the border,” he added.
Mr. Ashok Bhat urged all the maintain calm, and ensure that the SIT gets the time to conclude its investigations with diligence and with honesty.
