Chairs DISHA meeting, reviews progress of development works
Directs the concerned agencies to complete all the pending works within the given timeline
Jammu, February 04: Member Parliament Jammu-Poonch Jugal Kishore Sharma, who is also the Chairman District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DDCMC) ‘DISHA’, chaired a review meeting with members of DISHA and district officers of line departments to check status and progress of programs of central government at PWD Guest House Jammu, here today.
Chairman, DDC Bharat Bhushan, Deputy Commissioner Jammu Anshul Garg, Member DISHA Committee Tara Chand and Haroon Chowdhury besides other concerned district officials were also present in the meeting.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner gave a powerpoint presentation on the achievements and progress under different schemes and the status of various developmental projects being executed in the district by different agencies.
The MP took a comprehensive review of physical and financial achievements of centrally sponsored schemes PMGSY, 14th FC, RURBAN, DDUGJY, B2V3, Languishing Projects, Ayushman Bharat, NRLM, PMAY, IWMP, MGNREGA, PM-KISAN, KCC Swachh Bharat Mission, etc. The MP also reviewed the achievements of various schemes implemented by the PWD, PDD, Jal Shakti Department, Agriculture, Horticulture, Education, Social Welfare, Labor Department, Urban Development Department and others.
The MP instructed the concerned functionaries to make sure that the benefits under various Central Sponsored Schemes percolate to the targeted sections. He also stressed on creating mass awareness for the effective implementation of Central Sponsored Schemes at the grassroots level. The MP emphasized on optimum utilization of available resources and instructed the concerned officers for regular monitoring and follow- up of all ongoing development works to achieve quality parameters.
It was informed that Rs 73486.59 Lakhs were sanctioned under the Languishing project scheme for 252 projects including roads, bridges, school buildings, out of which 145 projects have been completed till date and the 106 are at different stages of execution.
Deputy Commissioner further appraised the Chair, that in total 4023 works have been completed under MGNREGA.
Under Himayat, the Member Parliament was appraised that total 5023 candidates were enrolled under this scheme and 1205 candidates are undergoing training, whereas 3170 candidates have already completed their training and 1545 candidates have been placed in different jobs.
Regarding Ayushman Bharat scheme, the Deputy Commissioner informed the MP that there are 1441400 beneficiaries in Jammu district out of which 739651 have been registered and 727756 Golden Cards have been generated so far. The chair also reviewed the progress of CRF projects being executed in the district and directed the officers to closely monitor the execution work.
Regarding, the MP was apprised that out of 5272 houses, 4640 have been completed. Under IWMP, 210 works have been approved out of which 50 have been completed so far.
Regarding MPLAD, the Chair was informed that under 16th Lok Sabha, out of 704 works 608 have been completed and under 17th Lok Sabha, out of approved 101 works 35 have been completed so far.
Regarding Jammu-Akhnoor Highway and Ring road projects, the MP was apprised that maximum works has been completed and rest would be completed within few months.
Under 14th FC, out of total 6255 works 3631 have been completed. Similarly, under PMGSY out of total 765 length road, 667 road length has been achieved.

Appreciating the efforts of district administration, the MP also expressed satisfaction on the overall progress of the district in the implementation of the centrally sponsored schemes. He also advised the members of PRIs and MCs to effectively monitor and help administration in successful implementation of the schemes. The MP directed the officers concerned to resolve the bottlenecks, if any.
While reviewing the progress, the MP directed the concerned agencies to complete all the pending development works within the given timeline. He emphasized to expedite the pace of works so that the set targets can be achieved across the district. The MP exhorted upon the officers and field functionaries to work as a team with closed coordination for better results and public service delivery to the people.
While congratulating the DC Jammu for being adjudged as number 1 district in composite ranking among all 20 districts of UT of J&K,
the MP also appreciated the district officers who are leaving no stone unturned in the development of the district.
