Srinagar, March 7: A delegation of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Union, J&K comprising of Mir Haneefa, Lateefa Ganie and Bhat Suraya met Mission Director ICDS at her office chambers in Srinagar and presented a memorandum of their demands and issues.
The members of the delegation apprised Mission Director about various issues and said that there is liability of wages from January 2019, state share and central share besides release of centre share from September 2021 to February 2022.
Seniority list of Anganwari Workers and Helpers be prepared and DPC be held once in two years as was done earlier, promotion strictly as per seniority, regular payment of rent and monthly charges for mobiles may be provided and outstanding payments released at the earliest.
Scores of ICDS workers who were promoted as supervisors in 2018, have not received salary yet despite performing their duties efficiently against the new post.
The Mission Director gave patient hearing to the delegation and assured due examination of their demands. Describing them as a vital service delivery force at the grass root level, Mission Director lauded the devotion and efficiency with which Anganwadi Workers and Helpers are performing their duties throughout the region.
