April 03: Police in Bandipora have busted two terror modules by arresting five terrorist associates linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT. Incriminating materials of proscribed terror outfit LeT and 03 Chinese grenades have also been recovered from their possession.
Based on specific information, Police along with security forces arrested four terrorist associates identified as Irfan Ahmad Bhat resident of Ashtangoo, Irfan Ahmad Jan resident of Qazipora, Sajad Ahmad Mir and Shariq Ahmad Mir both residents of Arin areas of Bandipora. Two Chinese Grenades and incriminating materials were also recovered from their possession.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested four terrorist associates were involved in providing Sim cards and logistic support to the active terrorists in Bandipora areas. A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Bandipora and further investigation into the matter is in progress.
Moreover, Police along with security forces on a checkpoint established at Rakh Hajin arrested one terrorist associate identified as Irfan Aziz Bhat resident of Hajin. During checking, one Chinese grenade was recovered from his possession.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested accused was in close contact with a Pakistan based terrorist Umer Lala and was directed to carry out terror attacks in Hajin area. Earlier, he was also in contact of the killed terrorist Saleem Parray of Hajin. A case under relevant section of law has been registered at PS Hajin and further investigation into the matter is in progress.
Police arrests 05 drug peddlers in Kupwara, Awantipora & Ganderbal
April 03: Acting tough against the drug dealings and make society free from scourge of drugs, Police in a series of actions have arrested 05 drug peddlers in Kupwara, Awantipora and Ganderbal. Contraband substances also recovered from their possession.
Acting on specific input, a police party led by SHO PS Kupwara SI Rafiq Lone under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Kupwara Shri Rashid Younis-JKPS established a checkpoint at Herri Market area of Kupwara. During checking, the alert team arrested two drug peddlers identified as Zahoor Ahmad son of Ab Rashid Sheikh resident of Meelyal, Kralpora and Mohd Anwar Shah son of Vilayat Shah resident of Dardpora, Kralpora who were moving under suspicious circumstances and trying to evade police presence. On their personal search Brown Sugar weighing 22gms was recovered from their possession.
Preliminary investigation revealed that, the arrested duo was contacted by some drug addicts of Kupwara and they were on their way to deliver and the sell to them to earn money. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.75/2022 under relevant section of law has been registered at PS Kupwara and further investigation is in progress.
Moreover, acting on specific information a police party led by SHO PS Pampore Insp. Adil Ashraf established a special checkpoint at Dooninad Crossing and arrested two drug peddler identified as Yawar Bashir Mir @Gunja son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Namblabal and Tariq Ahmad Sheikh @Patanjali Tiger son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Tulbagh Pampore. During checking, 05Kgs of Poppy Straw carrying in a Nylon Bag was recovered from their possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 32/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Pampore and investigation initiated.
Similarly, officers at a checkpoint established at Baboosipora Bridge intercepted a Vehicle Eco-Sports bearing registration No. JK01AG-7181. During checking, 300gms Charas was recovered and the driver identified as Tariq Ahmad son of Mohammad Jamal Bhat resident of Baboosipora Ganderbal was arrested. Vehicle used in the commission of crime was also seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 21/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Lar and further investigation initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddler in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddler should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
Police facilitates PCPG meeting in Baramulla
April 03: As a part of public outreach programme, Police in Baramulla facilitated a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting at village Heewan.
The meeting was chaired by SHO Police Station Sheeri and was attended by respectable citizens, Masjid Committee members, Numberdars, Chowkidars and general public of village Heewan.
During the meeting, the participants raised various issues of Public importance. The chairing officer listened the grievances patiently and thereafter assured them that their genuine grievances will be resolved on priority and every possible help will be provided to the people of the area and issues will be taken up with concerned departments for their early redressal.
The Participants were stressed to co-operate with Police and administration in maintaining L&O/drug menace in the area and in identifying anti-national/social elements who always try to disrupt the peaceful environment.
The participants in the meeting assured their full co-operation to Police and Administration in tackling social evils and also appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinions freely.
