Led by Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, J&K Business Leaders Meet Prime Minister ‘Local businessmen have to play pivotal role in rebuilding a new prosperous J&K’: Prime Minister

Chairperson of J&K Waqf Board & BJP National Executive Member Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today led a delegation of Kashmir Business Leaders during a meeting with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at New Delhi. The delegation consisted of President of Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry Sheikh Aashiq, Convenor of PHD Chamber of Commerce Mushtaq Chaya, President of PHD Chamber of Commerce Kashmir Baldev Singh Rana, business tycoons of Kashmir Showkat Chowdhary, Bilal Ahmad & Sameer Ahmad Wani. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi thanked the Prime Minister for his initiatives for the development of Jammu & Kashmir and praised the futuristic developmental projects of the Central Government for Jammu & Kashmir. The Prime Minister congratulated Dr Andrabi for her new assignment as the J&K Waqf Body Head extended her good wishes for the new assignment. The Prime Minister lauded her public service efforts. The delegation presented a Memorandum to the Prime Minister highlighting the issues of the Business fraternity of J&K in the current changing circumstances. Mr Sheikh Aashiq presented a detailed report of the business fraternity and the possibilities of the involvement of local business houses in the holistic developmental projects in J&K. He also submitted a proposal of establishment of a Model Carpet Village in Kashmir. Mushtaq Chaya gave a presentation regarding the development of Tourism Industry & discussed land related issues concerning Businessmen at Tourist Places, Sameer Ahmad Wani briefed the Prime Minister about the prospective Industrial Development involving local business houses & experts, Baldev Singh Rana sketched a roadmap of futuristic auto-industry in J&K while as Bilal Ahmad gave a presentation on the innovative steps to be taken to boost local businesses & industry in J&K. The demand for direct air connectivity to Jeddah & Dubai was made. Also the demand of settling down of downgraded accounts of businessmen was made. The Prime Minister assured the delegation that local business houses have to play a pivotal role in the futuristic development in J&K and the central government & the UT administration will be addressing all the problems of the local businessmen and boost their capacities and their role in the prosperity & economic revolution of J&K. Narendra Modi also appreciated the proposals of the GI tagging for Kashmir Carpets and also thanked the delegation for very innovative & practically viable projections. Dr Darakhshan Andrabi briefed the Prime Minister about the developmental scenario of J&K and praised the working of the J&K Government in uplifting the UT out of all uncertainties and ushering in a new era of peace, prosperity & development in all the regions of J&K.
