Kupwara Administration holds Training for Decision Support System Application

KUPWARA, MAY 6: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Imam Din, the District Administration today organised a special training session of concerned officers for operating Decision Support System (DSS) Application.

          Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat chaired the training session that was held at D.C Office Kupwara.  The training programme was attended by the Revenue Officers, Officers and officials of Disaster Management Kupwara and other concerned.

          The training was imparted by Dr.Yasir, Mohammad Junaid, the consultants of RMSI, a global consultancy.

During the training, the web based application DSS developed by RMSI for the Jhelum Tawi Flood Recovery Project was introduced to the audience and they were informed about its different modules and features.

They informed the audience about the mobile application for incident reporting and RNA, addressing emergency response service requests and DSS operation at the Control Room.

During the meeting, the concerned officer gave a detailed demonstration on the DSS and informed that it is a web-based application that helps to connect district control rooms with ESF departments for effective coordination and administering ground situations remotely during emergency situations.

Experts said the incidents will be handled at the district level, resource management and request will be coordinated at the district control room and in case of any requirement at Division/UT level this can also be coordinated through the DSS.

The field officers who were trained would be reporting the incident from the field and the same would be reflected into the Control Room followed by necessary action.
