A number of Poplar trees were uprooted and rooftops of various houses damaged after gusty winds accompanied by hailstorm hit several areas in north Kashmir.
Reports reaching news agency said that areas including Sopora, Pattan, Bandipora, Hajin, Ajas and others this afternoon saw gusty winds which resulted in uprooting of trees and damage to the houses.
Wind storm also uprooted a couple of Poplar trees in Sangrama along Baramulla-Srinagar highway, resulting in its blockade.
In the backdrop of the mayhem induced by the inclement weather, police and other officials of the administration went to the affected areas to assess the damage incurred.
