Bandipora, May 11: A militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter between security forces and militants in Srinder forest area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Wednesday, officials said.
The officials told the news agency that one unidentified militant has been killed in the operation that took place in the Srinder woods of the district.
They said that the identification and affiliation of slain militant is being ascertained while operation in the area is going on.
Earlier, the encounter broke out shortly after joint security forces including army’s 14RR, CRPF and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police cordoned off the area following inputs about the presence of militants there.
