Independence Day-2022 arrangements finalized at Budgam

DC for smooth conduct of functions at all venues; reviews preparations for ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign

BUDGAM, AUGUST 05: The arrangements for the ensuing Independence Day- 2022 were finalized today during a meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza at Conference Hall, here.

At the outset, the DC called for foolproof arrangements to be put in place for smooth conduct of Independence Day, 2022 celebrations at all venues in the district.

Sharing details, the DC said that the main function shall be held at Sports Stadium Budgam, which will start with Shahnai Wadan followed by hoisting of National Flag by the chief guest.

The chief guest shall inspect the parade contingents and take salute at the March Past to be presented by contingents from J&K Police, Armed Police, CRPF, Home guard, NCC, besides contingents from various educational institutions of the District.

On the occasion, a variety of cultural programmes shall be performed by renowned local artists, CRPF and school children.

The DC said that the Independence Day functions shall also be held at all SDM and Tehsil headquarters.

He emphasized on carrying out cleanliness and sanitation drives at all locations. He also stressed on making adequate security arrangements, parking facility, drinking water, proper seating arrangement, health, refreshment and other related arrangements are put in place well in time.

The DC directed that all line departments shall install banners depicting work achievements of their offices.

At the outset, the DC also reviewed preparations for the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign and programmes including essay writing,  debates, painting and National Anthem singing competitions being held at all schools under the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav programme.

Among others, the meeting was attended by SSP Budgam, Tahir Salim Khan, ADDC, Dr Akramullah Tak, ADC Dr Nasir Ahmad, CO CRPF, JD Planning, GM DIC, PO ICDS, CEOs of Development Authorities, SDMs, ACD, ACP, ACR, CMO, CEO, ARTO, Executive Engineers from different engineering wings and other district and Sectoral Officers.
