Teachers’ Day is celebrated on 5th of September every year on the birthday of Second President of India, Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second President of India .This day is celebrated across all Indian schools where students make the day special for their teachers in different manners. The students of Army Goodwill School, Chuntiwari also made this day special for their teachers, in a remote location close to the Line of Control.
The day started with a speech on the importance of Teachers’ Day followed by a number of games organised for the teachers by the students post which the winners were felicitated by the students. Such initiatives on the Line of Control are a sight for sore eyes where children in the remote corners of Kashmir are joining the mainstream and are able to lead a normal school life, at par with students from other parts of India.
