Panther’s United Bandipora lifts summit trophy

Bandipora: Panther’s United Bandipora lifted Gundjhangeer Federation Cup 2022 at Sports Ground Gundjhangeer Hajin.
The final match of the Gundjhangeer Federation Cup 2022 was played between Panther’s United Bandipora and JR Soccer Gundajangir Concluded on Sunday evening.
Sports devlopment Association Gundjhangeer President Mohammed Ashraf Sheikh, was cheif Guest besides him Vise president Fayaz Ahmed Shahri, Zahoor Ahmad Bhat Social Activistist, Bilal Ahmed Bhat Political Activistist and other guests were present on the occasion.
Both teams played agressive football and enthralled the crowed.
The final match was eventually won by Panther’s United Bandipora by 2.0
A number of spectators witnessed the final match and cheered their favourite teams.
16 teams from different areas of the valley participated in the football tournament organised by local youths of the Gundjhangeer Sonawari.
Local residents appreciated the youths for organising the football tournament at Sports Ground Gundjhangeer Sonawari area of Bandipora district.
While speaking to JKNS on the sidelines of functions Bilal Ahmed Bhat ‘said’ that the basic aim to organise such football tournaments is to engage youth in sports activities and keep them away from drugs
While Replying to a question, Bilal ‘said” that I have already raised this issue with Sports Council Secretary Mrs. Nizhat Gul and the process is going on, and she has assured that tenders will be issued for the ground, and Tournaments are being held here every year in this ground, but unfortunately there are no dressing room for players
Bilal ‘added” that these tournaments help them to show their talent in sports field and keeps them away from Drugs. We hope more sports events will be conducted in future for the younger generations of this area.
