DSW Kulgam conducts awareness programme to highlight schemes

KULGAM, OCTOBER 04: The Department of Social Welfare (DSW) Kulgam today  organised a day long awareness programme at ITI KB pora, D H Pora regarding various schemes run by  Social welfare department including  recently restructured Marriage Assistance Scheme, Pension Schemes, Prosthetic aids, motorized tricycles and Scholarship schemes etc.

Present on the occasion were officers from District and Tehsil administration; District social welfare officer Kulgam, Snobar Altaf; Tehsil officers from Social Welfare, Women Welfare Officers from Mahila Shakti Kendra Kulgam and employees of SWD.

Besides, other participants included PRI members, Anganwadi workers, CSC/Khidmat centre operators, Students, prospective beneficiaries and the general public.

The Officers and resource persons from Department of Social Welfare apprised people in detail about the criteria, eligibility and procedure for availing benefits under various schemes of the department.

A dedicated question answer session to address the queries of various stakeholders was also held on the instructions of DSWO kulgam.

The program was part of an initiative of the department to hold awareness programmes in far flung areas of the district to apprise deserving people of these areas about the digitisation and recent updations in different schemes of the department.

A similar program was held at Kund in the previous week which  received  an overwhelming response from the beneficiaries and local population of the area.
