In line with several reformative steps taken by the J&K Waqf Board, under Chairpersonship of Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, to overhaul the Educational system in schools run by it, J&K Waqf Board has initiated the process for compilation of a consolidated work on Biographies and contributions of Sufis and Saints that have lived in the Union Territory of J&K and propagated their Sufi thought and teachings.

An order to this effect has been issued by Executive Magistrate, Tehsildar J&K Waqf Board Ishtiyaq Mohi-Ud-Din, that says the consolidated work shall be made part of the Curriculum in Waqf Schools from the forthcoming Session.

The order further says that a preliminary exercise in this regard has already been carried out through the Administrators of Shrines to gather information from authentic available sources. It also mention that the information gathered and consolidated by the Committees shall be put up for consideration of a Central Waqf Committee that shall be headed by the Hon’ble Board Member Dr Ghulam Nabi Haleem.

Pertinently, J&K Waqf Board has already taken several measures for introduction of National Education Policy 2020, which has been dubbed as the most reformative step taken in the history of Indian Education System.
