Ganderbal, Feb 09: District President Ganderbal Mohammad Amin Shah along with his District Secretary Syed Ali Asgar Rizwi visited Bailey bridge over Nallah Sindh Wayil Ganderbal. Mohammad Amin Shah congratulationed the LG Manoj Sinha and the deputy commissioner Ganderbal Mr. Shyambir. The steel bridge is been serving for decades the purpose of connectivity but is highly inconvenient. No government before the BJP government has addressed the serious issue since three decades. Mohammad Amin Shah met the project manager Nisar Ahmad who updated the leaders on the progress of the project. The bridge is expected to be open for transport in the first week of April. The two-lane bridge is approved at the cost of Rs 23.79 crores and funded by the World Bank. The span of the bridge is 110 meters and the width is 10.50 meters besides, the length of the approach roads is 330 meters. There is a greater role of BJP government under Narendra Modi in construction of the bridge in such a short time. The road connects Ladakh, Kargil to other parts the country. It also connects several famous tourist and pilgrim destinations including Sonamarg, Naranag, and Amarnath shrine. It will be very beneficial for the local population who faced huge trouble during these years while traveling through the noisy and slippery bridge.
