Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Baramulla alongwith civil authorities destroyed Poppy cultivation spread on vast area of land.
A specific information was received by police regarding illegal cultivation of Poppy (opium plant) at Khamindarpora, Zaspora & Pazalpora areas of Tangmarg. Accordingly, a police party Police Station Tangmarg led by SHO PS Tangmarg alongwith Executive Magistrate of Revenue department, Excise Department & Agriculture department under the overall supervision of SDPO Tangmarg, reached the spots and destroyed the illegally cultivated Poppy spread over nearly about 3.5 Kanals of land.
Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Tangmarg and further investigations have been initiated.
General Public is requested to extend cooperation to the Police and come forward with any information regarding any kind of anti-social activity in their neighbourhood.
