A 40-year-old man was attacked and injured by a black bear in Drangsoo village in Mawer area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district this afternoon.
An official told that one Mushtaq Ahmad bhat son of Ab khaliq bhat was attacked by a bear at his native village.
The injured man was evacuated to NTPHC Qalamabad for treatment where from doctors refer him to GMC handwara for further treatment,he said
Soon after the incident Police rushed to the spot and wildlife shooters also summoned to assess the situation.
Meanwhile, a Wildlife official told that an operation is being launched by the department to tranquilize the roaming beast to avoid any untoward incident.
Locals have sought attention of wildlife department in this regard.(KS)
