Nowshera Forest Division conducts series of plantation drives to celebrate UT Formation Day

NOWSHERA, OCTOBER 25: In a spirited celebration of UT Formation Day, the Nowshera Forest Division took major initiative to promote environmental sustainability through a series of impactful plantation drives. The main event was held at the Government Middle School Behani Galla, along with Plantation drives held in GPS Prat, Raja New light High School Sunderbani and GHS Sarhoti showcasing the commitment of the community towards greener and healthier surroundings.

Vinod Baniyal, ADC Sunderbanj and Dr. Rakesh Verma, Range Officer Sunderbani attended the events held to promote environment conservation and encourage the local residents to participate in building a sustainable future. The active involvement of the community highlighted their deep-rooted commitment towards preserving the natural beauty of Nowshera and Sunderbani regions.

“We believe that a green and clean environment is the cornerstone of a prosperous community, and it’s heartwarming to see so many individuals come together for this cause,” said Vinod Banihal, ADC Sunderbanj .

Dr. Rakesh Verma emphasised the importance of such initiatives in combating climate change and preserving the unique biodiversity of the region. “Our collective effort in planting trees today is an investment in the future, ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for generations to come,” he noted.

All the drives were conducted under the direct supervision of Vivek Verma, Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri ,Satyendra Maurya, Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera and Dr. Rakesh Verma Range Officer Sunderbani.
