Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested a drug peddler in Buidgam and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
Police Post Mouchwa received information through reliable sources that one drug peddler of Wathoora Chadoora had concealed/ dumped Charas like substance in his residential house. Acting Swiftly, a special police team headed by Incharge Police Post Mouchwa reached the spot. The search of said house was conducted in presence of Executive Magistrate (Ist Class). During search, 26Kgs of charas like substance in powder form was recovered from the house. The contraband substance was seized and the accused was arrested on spot. He has been identified as Nazir Ahmad Maniguru son of Gh Mohd Maniguru resident of Wathoora Chadoora. Consequently, he has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 228/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Chadoora and investigation has been initiated.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.“`
