Srinagar, Nov. 22 : Amid cold weather conditions, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir is planning to announce winter vacations for schools in the Kashmir division up to the higher secondary level.
Official sources told News Agency that the vacation for students up to Class 5th is expected to start on November 25th, followed by Classes 6th to 8th on December 2nd.
He said the winter vacation for students from Classes 9th to 12th (up to higher secondary level) is likely to commence on December 9th.
Official sources further said that the decision is being considered due to the harsh weather conditions, including cold temperatures and foggy mornings in the Kashmir valley.
Earleir this week, parents and the Private Schools Association have expressed concerns about the health of schoolchildren and urged the government to make an early decision. (FB)
