JKPCC Observes National pollution Control Day on 2nd December 2023. In compliance with the directions issued by worthy Regional Director JKPCC Kashmir, Mr Rafi Ahmad Bhat, National pollution control Day was observed in all the districts of pcc , kmr, mega Event was observed in the Conference hall of JKPCC sgr , kmr in the memory of those who lost their lives in the Bhopal Gas Tragedy- the biggest Industrial disaster which occurred in the intervening night of 2nd-3rd December 1984 due to poisonous gas, methy isocyanate in the Air .
Rd kashmir jkpcc emphasized the importance of this day in his introductory address.He apprised the role of pcc for long term strategies, prolonged approach to enforce environmental regulations on ground to control emissions from industries and other sources. He advised the brick klins and stone crushers to adopt eco friendly technology to attain sustainable development. Rd social Forestry, Chief guest of the occasion shared his views on the occasion and stressed that every citizen need to play the role and contribute to make the environment neat and clean. It is need of the day to stop blind use of technology. Shabir Ahmad i/c water Lab explained the requisite information regarding the conditions of water bodies in kashmir region and the factors responsible for it. During the event, the documentary regarding Bhopal Gas Tragedy was displayed and 2 minutes silence was observed by all the participants. Mohd Shafi Parra, owner of hot Mix plant also spoke on the occasion. Dy Director information who was the guest of honor shared his views on the occasion and stressed that it is moral duty of every citizen to keep environment neat and clean. In the last Estates officer thanked all the respected dignitaries and the participants. The whole Event was anchored by Sabiya Mahajan i/c Awareness Cell.
