On 06 Dec 2023, late evening, the Army camp in Trehgam received a distress call regarding a fire outbreak from the locals of Ward No 6 Trehgam E, Kupwara. The same was later conveyed to Fire department.
Immediately, a Quick Reaction Team was dispatched which reached the location and controlled the fire. With utter disregard for personal safety, the teams engaged in fire-fighting operations and managed to prevent further damage due to fire. In close coordination with the fire department, the team safely contained the blaze, which otherwise would have proved disastrous.
The prompt action ensured that there was no loss of life and the fire was controlled immediately. The bravery and dedication of the Indian Army was highly appreciated by the locals. Medical attendant and treatment was effective to provide aid to affected citizens.
