Srinagar, Dec 16 : Director General of Police Jammu and Kashmir Rashmi Ranjan Swain has remarked that there was much order across Jammu and Kashmir now as compared to the past.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of his recently announced public meetings’, Swain, as per news agency Kashmir Scroll said, “Stone pelting in the valley was not always connected with water, electricity, road, bad governance and poor services. It was associated with creating unrest and violence.”
“As compared to the past, there is much more order in Jammu and Kashmir today. People are walking freely on the streets, schools and colleges are working, trade and commerce is going on peacefully and these are important aspects of the security management”, the top cop said.
“We are fighting against the baggage of terrorism and and secessionism which existed here for the last 30 years. To silence the last gun, it would take some time”, Swain remarked. (KS)
