BANDIPORA APRIL 06: ARO 14- AC Sonawari (SDM Sumbal) today organized a Mehandi Art Competition at Government Degree College Ajas under Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign.
The primary objective of the event was to promote electoral literacy and awareness among the youth through a culturally significant activity.
The event commenced with introductory remarks by Dr. Ashaq Hussain, who emphasized the importance of active civic engagement, particularly among the younger generation, in shaping the future of democracy.
The students of the college enthusiastically adorned their hands with intricate mehandi designs.
The competition showcased the artistic talents of the participants and served as a platform for expressing electoral awareness.
Many participants creatively incorporated electoral slogans and symbols into their designs, reflecting their commitment to democratic values. The Competition provided a unique opportunity for the youth to engage in meaningful dialogue about the electoral process while celebrating cultural traditions.
The event culminated with the concluding remarks by the College Principal, Prof. Dr. Parveen Kouser, who expressed gratitude to the organizers, participants for their enthusiastic participation and support.
Dr. Kouser underscored the significance of initiatives like the Mehandi Competition in fostering electoral literacy and encouraging youth involvement in democratic processes.
The programme was attended by Naib Tehsildar Ajas and Hajin besides students and college staff.
