KISHTWAR, APRIL 4: A contingent of 10 youth from District Kishtwar today embarked on a journey to participate in a free Basic Mountaineering Course at the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports in Pahalgam, Anantnag.
The free training program is being imparted to the youth by the District Administration Kishtwar led by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav under SANKALP Scheme.
The initiative aims to empower youth with essential mountaineering skills and create avenues for self-employment opportunities.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Pawan Kotwal flagged off the youth here from DC Office Complex. He extended his best wishes to the trainees for a successful and enriching training experience.
Upon completion of the training program, the youth will be equipped with essential mountaineering skills, which will not only enhance their personal growth but also create opportunities for self-employment within the district and across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as other parts of India, based on their acquired skills and capabilities.
The youth expressed their gratitude to all the stakeholders involved in organizing this training program, recognizing the significance of such initiatives in nurturing their potential and fostering skill development.
During an interaction with the trainees, ADC Kishtwar emphasized the importance of acquiring and honing skills to propel their careers to the next level. He encouraged the trainees to fully engage in the training program and make the most out of this opportunity to enhance their skill sets.
The Basic Mountaineering Course is expected to provide the youth with a comprehensive understanding of mountaineering techniques, safety protocols, and outdoor survival skills, preparing them for future endeavors in the field of adventure tourism and mountaineering.
This initiative reflects the commitment of the District Administration Kishtwar to empower youth and promote skill development initiatives that contribute to their holistic development and socio-economic empowerment.
