Jammu, May 24: Being sensitive to the loss of communication devices (smartphones) which has emotional and Personal bond of citizens attached, Jammu Police, in a major achievement towards public service and recovery of the valuable property of citizens, over the last 04 months, recovered 50 Smart phones worth value more than 18 lakh rupees.
The specialized Tech/ESU team of Jammu Police, South Zone working professionally, devotedly and tirelessly, traced, located and recovered 50 Smart phones in the last 04 months from all over the UT and other states of the country, the missing reports of such lost smartphones were recorded in different police stations , police posts of South Zone, Jammu.
The ESU action team under the command of SP City South,Jammu and under the overall supervision of SSP Jammu ttraced mobile phones (50 in number) & have been handed over by the team members to their lawful owners in a simple function in presence of SDPO South, SDPO East and SHO Gandhinagar in the office premises of SP South.
There were emotional scenes of the owners while collecting and reconnecting reconnecting with their lost mobile devices as the lost devices contained precious memories in the form of pictures and other personal information.
They were highly appreciative of the work of J&K police and thanked the entire team and Police hierarchy for able to bring back the lost mobile phones.
The traced smart phones were handed over only after re-verifying identity documents and Mobile bills.
SP South Sh.Ajay Sharma utilising the occasion gave the word of advice to take due care of communication devices such as smart mobile phones, which contain not only the Contacts, but a lot of personal information, including Photographs, Emails, Text messages and financial details. They were advised to implement strong security measures such as the use of strong passwords and PINs to lock phone screen, keep software updated, activate remote tracking and wiping features, enable two-factor authentication etc.
The public in general highly appreciated the operation “Re-CONNECT” launched by Jammu police .
