History-Sheeter Booked: money and sharp-edged weapons recovered by JKP in Pouni Chak, Jammu

Jammu, May 26: In a remarkable display of swift action, the Jammu and Kashmir Police apprehended two notorious individuals involved in a robbery in the Pouni Chak area of District Jammu earlier today.

The arrested individuals, identified as Mahavir Singh alias Appu and his accomplice Jatinderpal Singh, were found in possession of snatched money and sharp-edged weapons.

The incident came to light when a written complaint was lodged at Police Post Pouni Chak by Sanjay Kumar, a resident of Sandwan.He reported that while returning home after dropping his sister in Phallian Mandal, he was intercepted in the Seora area by Mahavir Singh and Jatinderpal Singh. The assailants, riding a Scooty (Registration Number JK02DE 2799), blocked Kumar’s path and forcibly stopped him. Brandishing sharp-edged weapons, Mahavir Singh threatened Kumar, placing a weapon at his neck, and robbed him of Rs. 18,600 in cash.

Upon receiving the complaint, the police registered an FIR at PS Domana and immediately initiated an investigation. Demonstrating exceptional efficiency, the team from Police Post Pouni Chak, led by IC PP Pounichak, apprehended the suspects within an hour of the incident. The stolen money, silver jewelry, and the sharp-edged weapons used in the crime were successfully recovered from the accused.

The general public has applauded the Jammu and Kashmir Police for their prompt and decisive action in resolving the case and bringing the culprits to justice in record time.
