Under the aegis of Drugfree Baramulla campaign, police has also attached illegal drug properties of 16 notorious drug peddlers worth 5.5 crores
Due to sustained action by Police, heroin cases have seen continuous reduction and there is a steep dip in instances of usage of heroin in Baramulla

“`Continuing its action against drug menace, Police have registered 95 cases under NDPS act, arrested 171 drug peddlers which include 44 hard-core drug peddlers who have been booked under PIT NDPS & seized 15 vehicles which were used for NDPS activities in Baramulla district during five months of 2024.
Police have also recovered contraband & psychotropic substances worth 51.62 Crores (value of contraband in black market).
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
