Srinagar, July 01 : In a significant development, the first FIR has been successfully registered in Srinagar under the new criminal law provisions, officials said.
According to the FIR, bearing number 22/2024, was registered at the Chanpora police station, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sadder subdivision here.
The case has been registered under sections 135-1(b) and 303(2) BNS of the new law, marking a notable milestone in the region’s legal enforcement framework, said a police officer.
He confirmed that Chanpora police station has registered first FIR in Srinagar under the new criminal and emphasized their commitment to upholding the new legal standards. (KDC)
