Srinagar, Aug 30 : The authorities on Friday said the Mughal Road has been closed in view of continuous bad weather and the threat of landslides.
The orders were issued by the Assistant Executive Engineer Public Works Department (R&B) Sub Division Bufliaz to the Deputy Superintendent of Police Traffic for Rajouri and Poonch, a copy of which lies with NVI said continuous rains and threat of shooting stones and multiple landslides along the route-the official notification cited these as reasons.
It reads, this is in a bid to ensure safety for commuters and to avoid any untoward incident. The highway will continue to remain shut until the weather improves. Travellers have been advised to stay updated on the weather and subsequently plan their journeys in accordance with it —(NVI)
