Anantnag, Sep 13: Anantnag Police, acting swiftly on a complaint filed by Ms. Shahizda Akhter, wife of late Ghulam Nabi Parray, resident of Shipora Larkipora, have successfully cracked a theft case involving golden ornaments. A case was registered under FIR No. 181/2024 U/S 380 IPC, and an investigation was promptly launched.
During the investigation, Rehana, wife of Majid Dar and resident of Minward, was brought in for questioning. Upon interrogation, she confessed to stealing golden ornaments from the complainant’s possession on the day of the incident.
Based on her confession, the stolen items, including:
– 1 Gold Bangle
– 4 Gold Rings
– 1 Jhumka
– 1 Chain with a Pendulum
worth approximately ₹3 lakhs, were recovered from her residence.
Further investigation led to the recovery of additional golden ornaments from the accused’s house, including:
– 2 Gold Bangles
– 1 Jhumka
– 1 Gold Chain
– 2 Pendulums
– 1 Pair of Earrings
– 1 Pair of Tops
– 1 Gold Ring
The total value of the recovered items is approximately ₹4.5 lakhs, bringing the total recoveries to ₹7.5 lakhs.
The accused has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing. Anantnag Police remain committed to dealing with criminal activities as per the law and urge the community to share any information related to crimes in their area with local Police units.
