Srinagar, Sep 13 : Two people died on Friday after a truck they were traveling in met with an accident and rolled down into a deep gorge near Doda on the Doda-Kishtwar National Highway, officials said.
A police offical told that a road accident occurred on the National Highway in the Doda district, claiming the lives of two individuals.
He said the accident took place near Mahlori when a truck, bearing registration number JK06-8747, veered off the road and rolled down approximately 300 meters into a gorge, where both the driver and the helper of the truck died on the spot.
He added that the victims have been identified as Asif Ahmed, son of Afzal Hajam, a resident of Bhagwah Bhata, and Amir Ahmed, a resident of Saikhwan, Doda.
Meanwhile, police have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.—(News Vibes of India)
