Kulgam, September 22 : Continuing its unwavering efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Kulgam Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of police station Kulgam established a checkpoint near district hospital kulgam, during checking one person was intercepted. Upon his personal search, officers were able to recover 80 grams of Charas like contraband substance from his possession. The said person identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Wani son of Bilal Ahmad Wani resident of Mirhama was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Subsequently, a case vide FIR number 140/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation has been initiated.
General public is requested to come forward or Dial 112 with any information regarding drug peddling/anti-social activity in their vicinity and extend their cooperation to Police in eradicating the drug menace from the society.
