Budgam, Oct 17: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menance of drugs from society, Budgam Police arrested 01 drug peddler and recovered contraband/psychotropic substance from his possession.
Police Station Charar e Sharief received an information through reliable source that one person namely Khurshid Ahmad Ganie S/o Abdullah Ganie R/o Bunhar Charawani has illegally dumped poppy straw dried and crushed canabbis in his residential house and accordingly police party conducted a raid and during search (06) six kgs of poppy straw (05) five kgs of dried cannabis like substance and (01) one Kg of semi dried cannabis Leaves was recovered from the house of accused person in presence of Executive Magistrate Naib Tehsildar Chararisharief. The contraband substance was seized and the accused was arrested onspot.
Accordingly, A case FIR No. 100/2024 U/S 8/15, 20 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Charar e Sharief and investigation set in to motion.
The people of Budgam are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Budgam Police assures that the identity of the informer will not be divulged.
