Indian Army Organizes Col Santosh Mahadik Inter-School Girls Kho-Kho Tournament in Kupwara

Kupwara: In a spirited effort to empower and uplift young girls in Kupwara, the Indian Army’s 41 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) organized the Col Santosh Mahadik Inter-School Girls Kho-Kho Tournament at Galzoo Stadium.

The three-day event, held from September 11 to September 13, showcased the talent and determination of young female athletes from the region, drawing participation from eight schools.

The tournament followed a knockout format, culminating in a thrilling final match between Government Middle School and Sadiq Memorial School, Kupwara, on September 13. The closely contested game ended with Government Middle School clinching the victory with a score of 20-14, marking an impressive performance by both teams.

The final match and closing ceremony were attended by civil and military dignitaries, along with enthusiastic spectators from all participating schools. The event demonstrated the Indian Army’s ongoing commitment to fostering female empowerment through sports in rural areas.

Each team displayed remarkable enthusiasm and resilience throughout the tournament, motivated by the support of their schools and the Indian Army. Awards were presented to all participating teams, with the top three teams receiving medals and trophies in recognition of their exceptional performances.

This successful event highlighted the “Never Give Up” spirit among the young female athletes, contributing significantly to the empowerment of girls in Kupwara and leaving a lasting impact on the community.
