New Delhi: Amid increasing incidents of violence in Manipur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the security situation in the state in a high-level meeting with senior security officials here on Sunday.
Sources associated with the security apparatus at the Centre said that the Home Minister left the election campaign programme in Maharashtra and reached the national capital during the day and reviewed the situation on Manipur in a meeting with senior security officials in North Block.
Sources said that Shah will also hold talks with senior officials on Monday on measures to establish peace and restore normalcy in the state.
It may be mentioned that after the latest incidents of violence in Manipur, curfew has been imposed in many districts and internet services have also been shut in some areas.
Moreover, angry mob also vandalised the houses of some MLAs and ministers in the state.
On Saturday, the Union Home Ministry had directed the security forces to take necessary steps to maintain law and order and take strict action against the miscreants in Manipur.
